I am Bakhtawar Tahir from Beauty Mayhem Blog and I am here with the review of NYX Matte Lipsticks. But first of all I'd like to thank Jadirah, she's a sweetheart <3 =).
Ok now let's see what NYX has to say about their Matte lipsticks:
NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented, richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put with a non-drying matte finish.
Now, on to my review =D !
Packaging:
The lipstick comes enclosed in a matte black plastic tube with a transparent ring in the middle through which you can see the actual bullet making it easy to pick and choose the color. I am not a big fan on it's packaging as it's not sturdy, the cap gets loose and the plastic seems cheap.
I'll rate the packaging 5/10.
Shades:
Shades that I got are:
- Sierra (bronze with pink undertones)
- Sweet Pink (violet fuchsia)
- Bloody Mary (blue-toned cranberry red)
- Alabama (brick red)
It comes in 33 shades so you have a wide range to select from which I like! =D I own 4 out of the 33 shades available.
Sierra is described as a bronze with pink undertones which I seriously don't get! It doesn't appear bronze on me at all. It appears a very pretty peachy toned nude on me and is a perfect everyday shade I am obsessed with.
Sweet Pink is described as a violet fuchsia. It's a blue-based pink with a hint of violet in it. It's bright but not in your face bright so those who like a pop of color on their lips for everyday wear (like me =D ) will love it!
Bloody Mary is described as a blue-toned cranberry red which is I think the perfect description. Love flaunting this shade in this weather! Oh and it makes your teeth look white =D!
Alabama is described as a brick red, which again is a perfect description. It's a brown-based red. I am not fond of brown-based reds mainly because they make my teeth appear yellow but this one's an exception it looks so pretty on I can't even describe! =D
I'll rate the shade range 10/10
Texture, Pigmentation & Staying Power:
It's a matte lipstick it appears matte but the texture is creamy, it applies creamy. It's not drying on lips as other matte lipsticks are. It's highly pigmented one swipe and you're good to go. As the texture is creamy the deeper shades tend to bleed so you need a lip liner for it. It stays put on me for good 4 hours without eating.
I'll rate the texture pigmentation & staying power 8/10
All in all I adore these lipsticks (^_^).

- Matte but not drying
- Long-wearing
You'll Not Like It:
- Cheap packaging
- Deeper shades tend to bleed
