It’s been a whole year, and seriously it’s unbelievable as time just flew by! If you have stuck around for long enough, you probably are aware that I didn’t start off particularly as a beauty blogger. In fact, if you read my side bar, you can tell I’m not just a beauty blogger. It all started last year when I was sitting at home, preparing for aptitudes, got a little break from studies, started reading Sarah Dessen’s novel Just Listen, made a long lists of inspirational quotes from the book, texted all my bookworm buds and finally decided to share it with the world. It clicked to me then why not start a blog? Therefore,my first ever blog post was
'Just Listen - Sarah Dessen'.

Now, I had never read much blogs before, I had no idea how things worked around, I just wanted to polish my writing skills, by the way, I am an aspiring writer, but more of a poet/lyricist since 6th grade (maybe even earlier), anyways, so that’s basically how it all started. I started discovering other blogs several days later from when I started blogging and that’s when audience started to pour in. Anyhow, since I was so naive, inexperienced and on my own, it took me a while to get the hang of a lot of things. I didn’t even know about my local blogging community for months and months! I don’t exactly remember how I stumbled upon PBBC, but one day I magically did and there on I’ve made a lot of blogger friends from my own country.
Coming onto how I got onto beauty blogging and why as it’s all what I’ve been doing more of recently. Initially, I wrote about books and food and music, in short about all that I loved. Therefore, my earliest blogs on google reader were all food and DIY blogs! I still occasionally blog about all that too, mainly when I’m going through a phase related to any of those categories so it’s always spontaneous and I welcome guest posts matching any of those categories. However, as I discovered more and more of this interesting blog world, I got to know there are people who post makeup stuff too that used to appear on google everytime I was looking for something. LOL. I felt really intrigued by it all and decided to dive into it as well. Plus, rant of my life, I don’t have a sister, I wish I had a twin blah blah. I thought beauty blogging was such a good idea to ramble about all that makeup! Now, I must say that I didn’t know much about makeup until I actually started blogging. It’s not like I didn’t like makeup or whatever, even though I was and still am somewhat of a tomboy at times, but I do remember asking my parents for lipstick when I was as young as 3 or 4 and my dad used to always say: ‘you don’t need lipstick, you already have such pink lips!’

It’s just that, I was never exposed to makeup much all my life. I remember the first makeup product that my parents got me was an eyeshadow palette that I still have (it’s not in use anymore!) it’s just still there. In fact, I never really used it because I was too young when they got this on my insistence and I never got to use it much, mum did. :D But then I used to ask my parents for all those toy makeup boxes and oh boy how eagerly I waited all those years for all that pretend makeup to come to life somehow!
Anyways, the first actual makeup thing that I bought one eid which I was actually allowed to use as well was a clear lipgloss. It came in a fat little tube with a roller ball, and I just loved it so much back then. I don’t have it anymore so no photo of that but here’s another lipgloss from early teenage year that I adored. I don’t wear it because of all that glitter, but it’s still sitting in my makeup pot because I still find it cute!
Moving on to my makeup journey, so back in 2010, we were to leave for LUMS to participate in their olympiad (I was in 11th grade at time), and I went for my ‘real makeup’ shopping. As I knew little about makeup back then and I was only fifteen, what I bought was a
Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara, that
Diana of London Blush and my first personal
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder that I love to date! It was a lot for me, and I was over the moon with all that! :D I started wearing foundation only last year and I actually went out to buy one right before my farewell at the end of our A’levels. -sigh- so that basically was my major transition. I always had nail polishes though but never wore them much back in school days as our school was very strict. Anyways, I’m still learning makeup techniques but I have started to build up a proper stash now. All thanks to the blog world! :) I don’t mind to go out without makeup as I have been raised without makeup :D so I don’t feel insecure or anything. Just like everybody else I also go through horrible skin days and having a combo dry skin is, which is probably the worst skin type in the world, as dealing with dryness is a lot tougher than oily skin as I experience both more or less, still I’d say one must always be grateful with what they have because somebody somewhere might be going through a lot worse.

I know my earlier review posts were very amateurish, but I did not know what aspects one must consider in writing a review, and you learn as you go so I am thinking to re-review some of the stuff. Let me know if there’s anything in particular that you’d want me to review again!
I have made so many awesome friends, and I thank each and everyone of you for sticking around and encouraging me all along! Luckily, I never faced any hate all this time and once again a HUGE thanks to all of you! My blog still isn’t exactly the way I want it to be, I need a better camera and lighting but I hope to grow with your love and support! :) I had promised a giveaway if I would have reached 100 GFC followers by now but unfortunately, we still need 18 followers before I reach a milestone, so lets wait and ask more people to drop by and follow? :)
Whoops, this is by far my lengthiest post, but it’s my blog’s special day!
Congrats if you have made it to the end! :P
Love you all! x
